AI that shops for people
Assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot answer shopping questions, compare products and link to stores. Buying inside the assistant is still early: a few apps offer it, often only in the US.
Agentic commerce is buying and selling with the help of AI agents. Shoppers use AI assistants to find, compare and buy products, and store owners use AI agents to run their stores.
On Shopdrop, the store side works today. You ask Genie in plain words and it does the work in your store, and every product page carries the structured data AI assistants read.
One side is AI that shops for people. The other is AI that runs a store for its owner.

You say what you need, and the agent does the work in your store: listings, prices, discount codes, design changes and reports. This side is live on Shopdrop today, with Genie.
Every Shopdrop product page carries structured data: the product’s name, brand, photos, price, currency, stock and rating. Search engines and AI assistants read it, and Shopdrop keeps it in step with the page.

Each store also has its own sitemap, and shared links preview the product, its photo and its price.
Shopdrop doesn’t send product feeds to AI apps or take orders inside AI chats. Your checkout stays on your store.
Genie is the AI agent built into every Shopdrop plan, Free included. Ask in plain words, and each change comes back as a card you apply and can undo for 30 days.

The words and standards behind agentic commerce, each in one sentence, as of October 2026. Shopdrop doesn’t support ACP, UCP or AP2 today.
Agentic commerce is buying and selling with the help of AI agents. On the shopper side, AI assistants search for products, compare them and, in some places, check out for a person. On the store side, an owner asks an AI agent to do the work: write listings, make discount codes, change the design or report on sales.
Agentic checkout is an AI agent completing a purchase for a person. Some AI apps use a checkout built for agents, and some agents fill in a store's own checkout pages, the way a person would. Shopdrop stores don't offer a checkout built for agents today.
The Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP) is an open standard for buying inside AI assistants, published by OpenAI and Stripe in September 2025. Google's Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) is a separate standard for the same job. Shopdrop doesn't support either today (October 2026).
An MCP server lets an AI assistant use an outside service through the Model Context Protocol, an open standard Anthropic introduced in 2024. Shopdrop runs one: connect it to Claude, ChatGPT or Grok and you can manage your store's products, orders, discount codes and design from the chat.
AI assistants and search engines can read your Shopdrop store the way they read any website. Every product page carries structured data with its name, brand, price, currency, stock and rating, and each store has its own sitemap. Shopdrop doesn't send product feeds to AI apps, so whether an assistant shows your products is up to that assistant.
Add a product photo, and Genie turns it into a draft listing for you to price and publish. Shopdrop takes no commission on your sales.
