This policy explains how Shopdrop uses artificial intelligence: what our AI features do, what they never do, how they are paid for and what happens to your information.

  1. You apply each change, and can undo it for 30 days.
  2. Prices show up front, and only good results are charged.

The policy

Where Shopdrop uses AI

Genie is the AI assistant inside your Shopdrop portal. It can draft a whole store from a short description and a few product photos, write product listings from photos, suggest design changes, make discount codes and answer questions about your own sales.

Superstudio makes product photos from photos of your own products. The Brand Kit uses Genie to suggest colors and fonts, and on paid plans to design a logo.

You can also connect an AI assistant you already use, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Grok, through the Shopdrop MCP connector, covered below.

Genie works in English only.

Changes to your store, and undo

Genie suggests each change to your store as a card. The change is made when you apply the card, and you can undo it for 30 days.

Genie never publishes your store, posts to social networks, messages your customers or sets a price. When a product needs a price, Genie asks you for it. It has no way to change your payouts, bank details, account email or password, and it cannot delete your store.

Genie works only on your own store. Which store it works on comes from your sign-in, never from anything the AI writes, so it cannot reach another merchant’s store.

Credits

AI work that costs us money, such as making photos, uses credits from your plan. Every plan includes credits each month. Monthly credits don’t roll over.

Before a job that uses credits, Genie shows its price, and the job starts only when you confirm it. You are charged only for a good result. A job that fails costs you nothing. Each plan also has a daily limit on credits.

What each plan includes is on the pricing page.

Your information

When you use an AI feature, we send the AI provider what it needs to complete your request: your message, the files you choose and the relevant details of your store. When you ask about orders or customers, their email addresses and phone numbers are partly hidden first.

We don’t use your information or your customers’ information to train AI models. We use our AI providers’ business services, and their terms for those services say they don’t train their models on what we send.

Text that comes from your shoppers or from your store’s pages, such as reviews, order notes and product descriptions, is treated as information for Genie to read, never as instructions for it to follow.

Genie conversations are deleted six months after the last message, or sooner if you delete them. Photos Superstudio makes that you don’t keep are deleted after 30 days. Our Privacy Policy sets out what we keep, and for how long.

Images

Superstudio starts from a photo of your real product. It shows your product as it is, and it never adds a product you don’t sell.

Superstudio makes product-only photos, with no people, faces or hands. Every photo is checked before you see it, and a photo that shows a person is never delivered.

Genie puts only your store’s own photos and videos on your store, the files stored with it. It never links an image from another website into your store.

We leave out image models from some makers.

Who provides the AI

Our AI features run on models from Cloudflare, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Replicate and Kie.ai. Tavily runs web searches for Genie, and receives the search question only, never personal information. Some providers pass a request on to the company that made the model, to complete it.

Our list of service providers names every company that handles personal information for us, and we update it before we start using a new one.

When AI gets it wrong

AI can make mistakes. Figures about your sales, orders and customers come from Shopdrop’s own reports, never from the AI’s own sums.

What our AI features make for you is yours. Check it before you publish it, as the Terms of Service ask.

Connected AI assistants

When you connect an assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT or Grok, you sign in with Shopdrop and choose what it may change. It can always read your store, with your customers’ email addresses and phone numbers partly hidden.

Everyday edits in the areas you allowed apply straight away. Bigger changes, such as new prices, archiving products, changes to more than 10 items, switching theme or publishing your design, wait until you tap Apply on a card in the chat, and so does anything that uses credits. The connection can’t take payments, change where your customers’ payments go, see your payment keys, or change your plan, billing or password.

What the assistant receives is handled by the company that makes it, under its own terms.

What our AI may not be used for

You may not use our AI features to make content that is illegal or deceptive, or that impersonates a real person or brand. The full rules are in the Terms of Service, and we act on a breach quickly.

Changes and questions
